Jerusalem Chess
The “Jerusalem Chess” project offers a complete learning experience for chess, using professional methods and contemporary approaches that combine the joy of play with building strategic thinking, planning and decision-making skills.
Through chess, students learn that every decision has consequences, that planning for the future takes vision and patience, and that handling pressure calls for calm, focus and clear thinking. The experience goes beyond learning and training: it extends to real annual tournaments where participants test their skills, take on new challenges and celebrate their achievements.
Over the past years the project has reached more than 80 schools, and more than 6,000 students in Jerusalem have completed the training. It has helped several schools set up their own chess clubs, keep training going and weave chess into their educational plans. It has also organized school and community tournaments that spread chess culture and widened the circle of players in Jerusalem and beyond.
